Teachers must visibly model the values and principals of the faith through facilitating a learning environment that is positive, affirming, peaceful, growth-oriented, and faith-filled while providing respect for the dignity of all persons within the faith community. Must implement the school’s curriculum with methodology that promotes achievement, positive interaction, and the development of the Gospel and Church values inherent to Catholic education. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts classes in all subject areas assigned in accordance with school curriculum, mission and philosophy
Maintains a collegial atmosphere and fosters a positive and inviting climate for learning in and out of the classroom, treating all students with dignity and respect
Teaches Catholic values through word and example while encouraging the faith development of each child, incorporating the Gospel message and values
Communicates regularly with parents and administration working effectively with all members of the school community
Keeps current and accurate records (grades, assignments, permanent files, attendance, inventories of instructional material and equipment, etc.)
Responsible for policies and duties as outlined in the handbook
Attends and/or completes workshops, in-services, trainings and regular teacher meetings and participates in planning with colleagues
Conducts oneself in a professional manner, striving to sustain the highest degree of ethical conduct
Exhibits competence in instructional methods and subject matter(s) while conducting ongoing curriculum development
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Fulfills other responsibilities as identified as needed by the employee or assigned/approved by supervisor
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Arts Degree
OTHER EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Assistant Dean of Students - Full Time
The Assistant Dean of Students supports the Dean in maintaining a safe, orderly, and mission-aligned school environment. This position assists in the implementation of student discipline, supervision, and student life programming in accordance with the mission of Stella Maris Academy as a Catholic Liberal Arts institution. The Assistant Dean works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents to promote student responsibility, respect, and positive behavior consistent with Catholic values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Relations, Supervision and Discipline
Provide consistent supervision of students throughout the school day, including hallways, locker bays, and common areas.
Enforce school rules and behavioral expectations in a fair and consistent manner.
Respond to classroom discipline needs by providing support to teachers and assisting in maintaining an effective learning environment.
Address student behavioral concerns and implement appropriate interventions, including documentation and follow-up.
Participate in regular student support or discipline meetings and complete assigned follow-up actions.
Attendance and Accountability
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of school policies related to attendance, tardiness, and absences.
Monitor student attendance and communicate concerns to the Dean of Students.
Student Life and Activities
Lead or co-lead Student Council and Leadership courses, including regular meetings and oversight of student-led activities and events.
Provide guidance to students in planning, organizing, and executing school events.
Collaborate with the Faith Formation Director to support retreats, assemblies, and school-sponsored field trips.
Assist in the development and supervision of after-school programs that support student academic and behavioral needs.
Events and Extended-Day Supervision
Serve as the primary administrative presence for after-school detention and student support programs.
Co-lead and supervise evening and off-campus events, including dances, social events, and field trips.
Ensure student safety and appropriate conduct during all school-sponsored events.
Oversee facility use during events, including ensuring spaces are cleaned, secured, and properly closed.
Parent and Community Engagement
Communicate with parents regarding student behavior and support school expectations.
Assist in fostering positive relationships between the school and families.
Support efforts to increase parent involvement in school programs and activities.
Faculty and Administrative Collaboration
Support faculty in maintaining consistent classroom expectations and discipline practices.
Serve as a resource to teachers regarding student behavior and classroom management.
Collaborate with school administration to ensure alignment with the mission and policies of the Academy.
Instructional Responsibilities - As needed/assigned
Oversee and monitor study hall courses/attendance
In-class formation and instruction on virtue, character building, faith formation
Electives - based on interest, ability, and availability
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education or administration preferred
Prior experience in a school setting or student discipline role preferred
Practicing Catholic/Christian in good standing who supports the mission of Catholic education
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple responsibilities
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES
Licensure as teacher, administrator, counselor, or social work preferred but not required.

Extended Day Aides - Holy Rosary Campus
The Extended Day Aide is responsible for supervising children before school and/or after school. This position provides homework help, technology assistance, creative activities, sports activities and games. This may include going over lessons with students individually, answering questions, and working with small groups. The Extended Day Aide will assist students to stay on task. This may require going over instructions with students, mediating disagreements, and helping students to respect others and being vigilant about the safety of all students.
Extended Day Aides must visibly model the values and principles of the faith through assisting in facilitating a learning environment that is positive, affirming, peaceful, growth-oriented, and faith-filled while providing respect for the dignity of all persons within the faith community. The Extended Day Aide assists with the school’s curriculum with methodology that promotes achievement, positive interaction, and the development of the Gospel and Church values inherent to Catholic education. The aide must adhere to school policies in a manner that is reflective of the values, practices, teachings and standards of fairness implicit to Catholic institutions.

Supports the school’s spiritual, pastoral and educational mission
Provides necessary staff support to the school principal
Works collaboratively in a positive, friendly and professional manner with all employees, parents, students, volunteers and contacts
Prepares the materials for each session
Provides technology support to the students
Maintains documentation/records including checking in and checking out, student Extended Day hours, emergency information, etc.
Maintains physical and information security at all times; respect confidentiality/privacy
Keeps an organized and clean learning environment
Assists students with skills and lessons as directed
Helps students with problem-solving as needed
Ensures safety of children on the premises and at play
Lends assistance to other staff as needed
Attends and/or completes all workshops and training as directed
Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
Performs other duties as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Experience as an Extended Day Aide or equivalent work experience with children
Experience working with children preferred
OTHER EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

Possess good organizational skills and is capable of multi-tasking

Substitute Teachers
The substitute teacher is assigned to work in the absence of a regular teacher to aid students in understanding a subject matter, as well as to provide skills required for lessons and purposeful training for the classroom he/she is assigned. Substitute teachers are appointed on a temporary basis pending the return of a permanent teacher who is absent due to extended leave or illness.
